A mystery?
Seems very odd that every one seems to have had a "re-boot" @ 16.15 / 17.15 without prompt and now every ones box is working now!
A mystery indeed.
Everyone? - Mine definitely did not reboot.

Hi, I have been reading these posts for last couple of days, having same problems with remote not working with 1000S box. Decided to join in discussion. My box has not rebooted! Contacted Humax customer support today - the reply was there has been a problem over the weekend and has now been resolved 'by Freesat'. Tried switching off/on at mains as suggested (several times) and box displays "STARTNG", whirrs a short time but still no response with remote. Have contacted Humax cs again and waiting reply.

Thanks to you all as I am sure all our complaints got the wiz kids at Humax fixing the problem. Our box and diddly diddly is working with no freezing up. Back to normal

Man from Humax asked when I got the box. After much searching I found receipt, it was just over 2 years ago. He didn't say the 'resolved issue' wasn't applicable to my box but that the remote may be faulty and I could purchase a new one! How many people are buying a new remote at getting close to £40 from Humax? Saw some info online about checking if infra-red is working in remote, using a digital camera lens to look at it. I'll try that before I rush to buy a new remote control. Coincidence that the problems started around same time as with everyone else???

Do the buttons on the front of the box work If not it can't be just the remote at fault

Thanks to Barry and everyone for sharing your experiences. I was on the verge of buying a new box when I stumbled across this forum. You gave me confidence to hold on and see if there was a fix from Humax (or Freesat), and now all seems to be well. My box hasn't frozen since Monday, so fingers crossed...

I have only just bought my HDR 1000S and the remote has been fairly unresponsive but I think I have tracked it down to my Philips tV which seems to emit some kind of Infra Red, if I use it on my Sony TV, it seems OK.
Are any of you using Philips TVs
My other remotes don't seem to be affected by this TV, maybe because this Infra Red Remote is on a different frequency.

Hello, just joined. I have a Freesat+ HD1000S. worked fine last night. but this morning, the remote partly works. Cannot change channel, the volume on screen display goes up and down but the actual volume sound doesnt change. Any other option (like pressing TV guide) instantly locks up. To change channel we have to switch off then on and then have about 5 seconds after boot up to type in a channel number. Volume buttons on box do same thing as ones one remote (ie the osd changes but the volume sound doesnt).
No idea what firmware I have as I cannot get to the options to find out.

In between writing the last post and this one, its suddenly started working again!
Didnt touch anything, but the box suddenly changed channels with no user intervention from 106 to 101 then 112 then after that it all works fine!?!?!?
