What Biggles is saying is that he was able to successfully set hd recordings on his Panasonic but he is unable to check on his Humax because it is a 9200.

Thanks for that, and my apologies; I'd missed Biggles' earlier post where he mentioned the Panasonic.

... and the reason that I am keeping both SD and HD channels is that local (eg local news) programs don't get broadcast on the HD channels.

It looks therefore as though it is a Humax problem - unless both Mendip and Winter Hill have messed up their EPG data.

Thanks for the explanation, I thought I'd been clear.

It sure does. I'm really glad I didn't like the (meat pie) shape of the Humax as it turned me to the Panasonic DMR-HWT130, a more traditional shape and with a front panel display which I prefer.

I am pretty sure it will be fixed very quickly. Humax has asked me to return mine so they can test it.

You don't like the faux leather top? There's no accounting for taste

I've lost track in this discussion - my 4000T does not offer the HD record option either other than for BBC channels. Is this a Humax issue or transmitter or TV company ?

I'm pretty sure that it's a Humax problem, although it could be a problem with FreeviewPlay.

Either way, it doesn't affect me as I always schedule recordings directly on the HD channels themselves

The SD/HD option does not appear to work on any of the Humax T2 units for ITV and C4, certainly in my region ymmv.

    I'll highlight to Humax support.
