Hooray! Thanks to this fix I now have YouTube search back again on my 4000T and 5000T. Just remember to use the REAR USB port to download the fix to the machine. (guess who tried to use the side port on my first attempt...)

As per my PM thanking you for feedback, side usb should have worked, that is how I updated my units to test the software before offering to all who want to try the fix.

I used the side usb port and it worked OK. The rear one is hard to get at.

Installed via side USB.
Opens straight to home page and not the usual user/account page.
Search works as expected.
Return/back doesn't appear to be doing anything in any section other than bringing up the playback time bar.
Playback has to be stopped but at least it now just reverts back to the place you were on the home page.So better than it was but not perfect.

Barry, I now know why my side port didn't work. When I tried the fix the first time I hadn't unpacked the zip file....
Am I red faced......

This is something between a workaround and a bit of technical insight, in that the search 'letters' are still there and working - just that you can't see them.
Applying a bit of a 'battleships' approach in working out where the next letter is; ie go three across then two down, brings your target letter up top left of the screen. And when you select, the letters return - until you move your cursor.

Upload instructions if you are not aware of them:
1. Download the latest software version and save it to an empty USB memory stick.
2. Please make sure the software is saved in the root of the USB stick.
3. Insert the USB memory stick into FVP-5000T USB port.
4. Please press Home -> Settings -> System Settings -> System Information -> and press ‘OK’ button on Check New Software.
5. When the download progress stops it may take up to 5 minutes for it to restart so ‘DO NOT TURN OFF FVP-5000T’
Para 5 is important, wait for the unit to reboot, for example my 5000T took approx 4 mins, my 4000T took approx 3mins 30 seconds.
