Lesson... I'm very hesitant about buying Humax again.
Should that not read freetime rather than Humax?

Should that not read freetime rather than Humax?
No. If Humax want to associate themselves with rank amateurs like Freesat then they must expect to absorb some of the damage. In any event I see the future of viewing in OTT content and I'll hold on to my next investment money until that market matures. Meanwhile I now rarely watch live TV, relying largely on streamed content. I have the freetime box and 3 old Sky boxes for when I really want to watch live, like news for example.
Testing, testing.
YouView reportedly have a contract with Accenture, which can't be cheap. Grisly bugs still seem to get through.
I emailed Humax support and have just received this reply:
"Thank you for contacting Humax.
I am sorry to hear you are having trouble with your Freetime product.
Can I please ask you to follow the steps below to try to resolve the issue. I would appreciate if you can let us know if the issue still appears after.
Can you please also confirm that you have the box connected to the Internet and if you have your boxed paired with the Freesat App?
Step 1:
Power Reset.
Please the unit into Standby for 30 seconds and then unplug from the mains for 2 minutes.
Step 2:
Following these instructions will reset some system settings including your Recording Schedule (Please replace when complete to ensure you still record favourite programmes)
Any previous recorded programmes will be saved.
Press Settings or Home on your remote.
Move to Settings > System Settings and press OK.
Move to Factory Default and press OK.
Reset System will be highlighted, press OK.
It will ask you if you are sure, highlight yes and press OK.
It will then ask for your password, default is 0000
The box will then reset itself. You will then need to go through the initial setup again."
I will do as they say, but I'm going to be away from home for a week so I won't know until I get back whether or not it has made any difference.
Been there done that, twice. No dice
I had another incident of it going into standby at 18:04. This was just before I did the Humax Support recommended reset. No further problems - yet!
