A way to get files over 4gb on the humax box.. Download x-plorer, connect hard drive (any format) use x-plorer to transfer files to the android/media folder on the 1tb drive. I've done it with my 4k files - 35gb plus size files. I've also tried playing same files from the hard drive via humax and it works fine. Don't know why they say fat32 hard drive. Next thing to do is get kodi set up to organise them all.

One thing that would sway me to the Aura over the HDHomerun is it is possible to view recordings on another TV via a firestick. Is that possible at all, via dlna or some other app on the Aura?

Occasionally when putting in deep standby the box sometimes seems to freeze and wont respond to remote and has to be switched off and on at the socket to reset. Is this happening to anyone else?

Happens when I set a manual recording put into deep standby and it won't come back on have to switch off at plug and the recording says power failure!!
Wonder if a few of you could try this to see if it's not just our units?| Thu 26 Nov 2020 10:23:56 #440 | -
HDMI resolution function seems to be main issue for me.
1 - Set it at auto it stays full 4K on all channels?
2 - Switch to different settings like 720p or 1080p and sometimes sound or picture goes off and a quick switch off and on with remote and it's back?| Thu 26 Nov 2020 17:50:55 #441 | -
I have asked about auto resolution on a separate thread and it has been confirmed that it does work correctly? How do you display that 4K is always being shown?kr002 - 2 hours ago »

If you have a 4K Tv it will always show a 4K picture. It has to do this because every pixel on the the screen has to have data. No TV provides this information, there is no need to do so.
What you need is a way to see what signal is being input by HDMI. Whatever it is it will get scaled to 2160P.
Obviously the poorer the video quality being sent to the TV the worse the scaled image will look.
In auto the TV tells the Aura it can do 2160p so it sends 2160p whatever the source is.
If set to manual you can choose what the box outputs. eg tuned to bbc1- HD it will have a source of 1080p25 or 10801 50 fields/second depending on the data within the GOP that the decoder is decoding. Freeview-HD allows mixed gops so can constantly switch between progressive and interlaced.
If the aura is set to output 4K50 it will scale either to to 2160p50.
