Take that with a large pinch of the proverbial - not a date we are aware of.

Amazon when I ordered the Humax, and delivery is showing as the 7-9th November.

Richer Sounds told me mid-November (10-15) and in my experience they are usually very reliable. Amazon are sometimes a little optimistic but at least they don't take your money until its shipped.

in fairness to Humax all the press blurb states "on sale in November" so that does give them 30 days wiggle room.

Maybe Amazon have had second thoughts about Aura at present. I can see no sign of it.

They (1TB and 2TB Aura) do not appear in searches when they are unavailable to order, but the link above works.

I preordered from Amazon on the 22nd October and it is set to be delivered on the 6th.

I expect they had allocated preorder stock that went reasonably quickly (ordered the 2tb version).

One feature that I would be looking for if and when I come to replace my aging Digitalstream: Does it let you set fixed time recording timers with a flexible repeat pattern?

My other PVR is a BT Youview box and not being able to do this is the cause of greatest grief when it comes to recording live sport with potential massive over-runs and disruption to schedule. Even if the broadcaster gets it right with flagging up the Accurate Recording tags (often not) the box itself often misses late changes to the schedule for an active recording.

Voice control and no analogue audio out? Not for me then.

s/pdif toslink to analogue audio converters widely available
You don't have to use voice control it has a normal remote control

Aye, I can work around the limited audio output capability with add on adaptors, splitters and switches but is that really what we still need to resort to in the 21st century.
It is the physical presence of voice control which makes me wary. I would want to take a pair of wire snips to the microphone. Never used voice control on my phone or tablet. Of course I could use a unique variant of my online identity to log into iPlayer and other services on this device so foil any linking to any other variant of my online identity harvested from elsewhere.

Your world must be a scary place. I'm with Graham - Alexa TV on/off, Alexa lights on/off, Alexa launch YouTube etc. Obviously my wife Alexa does sometimes get fed up with me ordering her around at times. I also use "Hey Google" too. Siri however is a disappointment. Whatever do yon need analogue audio out for?
