Just noticed that my phone no longer lists the HDR-1000S and FVP-5000T as a destination device you can cast the iplayer to.

I don't recall my FVP 5000 ever being offered as a casting destination. Is (or was) there a setting to allow that?

Here's the latest from the BBC iPlayer website. The only thing that seems to have changed is the date - ie now 5 October instead of 2nd!

We have become aware of an issue affecting Humax Freesat set top boxes where they are unable to playback content from within BBC applications (including iPlayer, News and Sport), despite being able to open the apps.
Humax have assured us that they are working on resolving this issue as soon as possible.
We'll update this page as soon as we have more information.

They still have not got to grips with the fact that it not just Freesat which is affected (bad though that is on its own), but Freeview as well.

Going to try iplayer on both devices

After installing Microsoft Edge on my phone. I am casting Youtube to the FVP-5000T dial server.

    Also works to HDR-1000S.

Only way that works for iplayer is streaming to a chromecast device. This works on my phone from the iplayer app.

As we seem into posting what it works on: it works on both my Amazon dongle thingies and my LG smart TV and my Samsung smart TV and I am prepared to believe that it is a problem at Humax towers, as it seems that theirs are the only devices affected.

Any fix for Freesat is almost certain to fix Freeview as well.

Yes, I realise that, but they may take it more seriously if they know it is both. After all, it has been out of use for nearly a week now.

I have tried to tell the BBC about the Freeview aspect, but it has probably fallen on deaf ears.

Looks like it didn't fall on deaf ears. BBC have updated the page to include Freeview.

My FVP-4000T started displaying error messages, a few days ago, when trying to load selected catchup programms from BBC IPlayer. I normally play the Humax box through a Samsung smart TV and that can access BBC IPlayer directly using WIFI, without a problem. Has Humax made any public comment yet, does anyone know?

Good point and I expect they take problems with Freeview more seriously than with Freesat due to the numbers.
