    Is it just me?
I can't find evidence of an update - however, last night and this morning all the problems with D3&4 channels appear to have gone. Having said that, I didn't notice the start of the problems until after others had spotted them. Has the cause been corrected at the source (D3&4) or has my Aura been silently updated with an undetectable update?

The Freeview app on my Aura has been updated.
    Now version 1.00_67_250320_ec44a7d27
    25 03 20 being the applied date.
    Freeview Button> Settings> Apps> See all apps> Show system apps> Freeview

Was just going to post the same. I did get a very brief notification on screen about an update yesterday but it was gone before had time to read it. Could easily have missed it completely had I been blinking or looking away from screen for a second. All channels now seem to be working again after this update dated 20 March 2025.

I'm sure I looked last night after spotting things working and saw a 2024 date. I thought it was both Freeview and Freeview Live apps. Either I'm going number blind or confusing the various apps - or perhaps a senior moment.
Just checked - and the Freeview app (not the Freeview Live app) has updated.

Hi all, new user here. I had e-mailed HUMAX and told them I rejected my product and wanted my money back before I was aware of this site. In the e-mail I had given them my box details. The very next day I got this e-mail, no mention of my complaint

    Dear Aura User,

We’re reaching out to inform you that a new app update has been rolled out to all Aura devices across the UK, including yours!

To ensure that the update is applied smoothly, please follow the steps below:

Put the device into standby mode, wait until the HDD stops working, then unplug the power supply.
After waiting for 5-10 minutes, plug the device back in.
Turn on the box and watch live TV for 1 minute.
Place the box back into standby mode for 1 minute.
Turn it on again and watch live TV for 5 minutes.
Finally, put the box into standby mode for 2 minutes.
To confirm the update, you can check the version number by navigating to:
Settings > Apps > See all apps > Show system apps > Freeview,
The updated version should display as 1.00_67_250320_ec44a7d27.

(Note: Please ensure you're checking the right app and not confusing it with the Freeview Live TV app!)
If after confirming the update and correct Freeview app version, you are still experiencing issues, please feel free to reply to this email or contact our support team using your HMX email reference number for assistance.

Thank you for your continued support and patience!

It has worked, I used it last night and checked it this morning.

    All OK here as well.

I'm sure I could see the latest software version and date under settings before, but I cannot find any information now.

Reading the problems with Aura channels freezing .When it freezes usually on ch 4 more 4 during adverts , I find I can fast forward through the adverts and the channel will play again ..Do HUMAX not suppor Aura anymore?

They haven't supported it for YEARS

It looks like once again the sky did not fall. All good here and I am hoping it will also cure the freezing issues I had on 4/7and 4Xtra that pre dated this latest problem by months, they seem ok now but always were mainly happening in the evening, more testing needed.

I have been asking Humax since last April about the glitching on c31 and lense closing on c20. Still in hospital so haven't been able to check if yesterday's update has addressed these. Would be really grateful if you'd post when you've tried yours more. Thanks.
Same goes for the frequent crash homescreening as per this posted on another thread >

The problem Humax need to fix is this one which is registered in the Crash Reports and the timestamp coincides with the playback quit and spinning circle (I believe the spinning circle is the App restarting post-crash):
    java.util.concurrent.TimeoutException: android.media.MediaDrm.finalize() timed out after 10 seconds
    at android.media.MediaDrm.native_release(Native Method)
    at android.media.MediaDrm.release(MediaDrm.java:1631)
    at android.media.MediaDrm.finalize(MediaDrm.java:1602)

    at java.lang.Daemons$FinalizerDaemon.runInternal(Daemons.java:237)
    at java.lang.Daemons$Daemon.run(Daemons.java:103)
    at java.lang.Thread.run(Thread.java:764)
Humax do know about it. I was a beta tester for them in the early days of the product and I still periodically email them with my updated issue list and a summary of the crash logs.

@bella2 I have also constantly nagged them for months and the only straight answer I got was that not enough people had reported the issue for them to deal with it.
As for 4XTra I left it on for 2 hours whilst I pottered in the garden and it was running fine when I came in ,I shall record something on 4/7 and 4XTra this evening
    and report back.
