Maybe different with an Android device though rather than a proprietary build.

Android phones have a backup option and can be restored from the backup. A 2TB PVR would involve a lot more data if the HDD was backed up.

Not talking about backing up the actual recordings, just the recording schedule and the user settings. A reset does not affect existing recordings.

A small amount of data and the HDD size would make no difference.

Ability to turn off the graduated background to plain black in the EPG menu.

Also have the ability to increase the font size in the EPG menu and the recordings list.

There's an awful lot of people with vision impairments, sometimes I struggle to read it on a 60" screen at 3 meters away.

    A few thoughts:

    * Seconding the idea (mentioned near the start of this thread) of adding user-created folders to recorded shows, so you can file things you may want to keep like Movies under named folders.

    * Make unused tuners available externally for services like TVHeadEnd to make use of.

    * Ability to manage/move/delete recordings from the mobile apps.

    * Add a web interface with similar functionality to the mobile apps to enable control over the local network.

    * Add an API for interaction with external automation services like Home Assistant. Both for status monitoring and for triggering recordings and remote control.

I agree with barrados about font sizes in EPG. Some of the logos, Sony Drama for instance are undecipherable. My wife has to physically move closer to the TV to read schedules and info even with glasses which are up to date. An option to make fonts bigger ought to be available as an accessibility option.

    Another couple of possible improvements:

    * For the non-anonymous FTP, use a user-configurable persistent password rather than the current transitory passcode.

    * Make the recordings available via a more modern protocol (SMB2/3 and/or NFS) rather than just FTP, which is getting a bit antiquated. Using username and persistent password as above for the SMB config.

An option to increase text size on the TV Guide, Programme Library and Information pages for those of us whose eyes are becoming dim and do not own a 75" Samsung

I'd like to offer a few suggested improvements to the "Home" menu for consideration & one for "Top Picks"

    Home

    * The ability to move the "Apps" bar up & down within the "Home" menu

    * The ability to move pre-installed apps within the top bar based on user preference

    * Currently, recordings are contained within the "Freeview Live TV" line in the "Home" menu. Could this be renamed "Recordings" instead, to save confusion between actual Live TV & Previously Recorded TV?

    * "Freeview Play - On Now" is a great addition, but could the selection of channels be manually selected by user preference, in the same way "Top Picks" can under "Replace Channel" ?

    Top Picks

    * The ability to move selections on the Menu bar L-R based on user preference

    (Pics below)

    Thanks

We can do that now can't we?

Press and hold OK on the app you want to move, select move from the drop down menu and press ok, app will have a 'flashing' border around it, move the app to where you want it press OK
