I am 100% confident that there are several longstanding members on here that would by now, if it were at all possible, have given us instructions on what us mere mortals could do to remedy the situation.
Unfortunately, patience is our only option.

Is there any news at all on the BBC IPlayer situation and when it will be resolved.?
It seems strange that the App seems to be working up to the point of fetching the Program from the BBC. Then just the ever revolving circle and eventually a message saying to the effect, no go, no luck, try again later. It is like Humax and the BBC refuse to be friends and shake Hands.

Is there any news at all on the BBC IPlayer situation and when it will be resolved.?No news at all. The last response from the BBC was Monday and the last I am aware of from Humax was Tuesday. Both basically have said it is being worked on but with no further detail.

Received from Humax this morning in response to my email on 2nd October. Pretty non-committal. Looking at the formatting it looks like a cut and paste standard response job.

Hello,
Thank you for your reply but disappointed by the lack of detail considering the issue has been live for over a week now.
If you have identified the issue where does it lay?
- Is it a software issue with customer equipment that requires coding and a subsequent software update?
- Is it related to non-customer server infrastructure code or configuration?
- Is it a business/commercial related issue?
- Some other issue you might share with the Humax user community?
Humax customers deserve to know what is going on. Customers bought your products in good faith on the understanding that certain features were available and you still advertise that they are.
I will be posting this email chain on My Humax forum
Regards

I can add myself to the list of those who are now experiencing the iPlayer content download problem AND the YouTube connection problem. Is there a separate thread for the YouTube problem? To quote from an earlier message in this thread:
YouTube through my box sometimes gives "you are being directed to youtube.com" and then shows 12 grey boxes. Sometimes, YouTube works fine.Me too (sounds like a hashtag) i.e. iPlayer circles when trying to play the programme and youtube tries to redirect to youtube.com with the grey boxes.
In my case the receiver is an HB-1100S. The problems started about a week ago, after I restarted the box. Strangely, I had reset it a few times in the last couple of months to try to sort out a network problem.
I've tried doing a factory reset, but that doesn't change anything.
Strangely, the software update date is 18 August 2018. That doesn't make sense if the problem has been due to a recent software update.| Thu 8 Oct 2020 12:58:33 #206 | -
I just hope the iPlayer problem is not going to drag on like it did with My5. I have noted the comments about YouTube and can confirm the observation of others, though for me that is not as important as iPlayer, but hopefully both will get sorted out pronto (or at least pronto-ish!).

I used to love the BBC but they are getting increasingly exasperating.Intrigued - why do you think it's the BBC ?
You need to take a deep breath and consider the evidence. The BBC have merely acknowledged a known issue with Humax boxes and are looking into it. That's a massive leap to saying they are to blame. I
Iplayer continues to work absolutely fine on myriads of other non Humax kit.
Smart phones and tablets, smart TV's, PCs, Amazon firesticks and no doubt NOW TV sticks.BBC Iplayer stopped working on my mum's smart TV a year or two ago. I spent ages trying to figure out whether it was a network problem until I eventually found out somewhere on the net that iplayer no longer supported that model. Something similar happened to my own Toshiba TV earlier this year. I now advise friends and family against getting so-called smart TVs.
And remember the fiasco over BBC Sounds.| Thu 8 Oct 2020 14:19:07 #208 | -
Admin note:
Thread will be moving to Broadcast, Internet, and Media sub forum shortly as problem is affecting more then just 4000/5000T.
Will still be 'stuck' to top of main page.

Latest from BBC. Nothing really new, regretably.
=============
Why are programmes failing to load on my Humax Freesat or Freeview box?
BBC iPlayer | Under investigation
*** Thursday 8 October ***
We're aware that some people using Humax Freesat / Freeview set-top boxes are unable to play content in BBC applications (iPlayer, News and Sport) despite being able to open the apps.
Humax have assured us that they are working on resolving this issue as soon as possible. For the latest information visit the Humax Service Announcements page.
We'll also update this page as soon as we have more information. In the meantime, you should be able to use BBC iPlayer on other devices such as a computer, mobile or tablet. If you have another streaming device or box which supports BBC iPlayer, you could also connect this to your TV for the time being.
=======
Note that the second section on the linked Humax page is dated over a year ago and presumably not connected with the current Youtube problems.
